10 a.m.-noon Mentoring Madness (pre-registration required)
Mentoring Madness is fast-paced, small-group mentoring session. Participants will have facetime with experienced head coaches to discuss pertinent coaching issues, helping to build everyone’s professional network and opening the door to a convention full of brainstorming and sharing.

10-11 a.m. Coach and Be Coached: Mock Interviews (pre-registration required)
This career development option will give individuals the opportunity to practice their interview skills with an athletic administrator or head coach while having the option to ask questions while the interviewer critiques the interviewee.

Noon-1 p.m. Mentoring Meet-Up (WBCA Coach to Coach Mentoring Program attendees only)

12:30-6:30 p.m. “XCEL” (invite only)
A one-day program that will include specific coaching topics targeted toward head coaches such as communication, leadership, mental health and managing up within a small group setting.

12:30-2 p.m. Moderated Roundtables
This fast-paced setting allows coaches to listen and discuss multiple topics in a short amount of time. Hosted by the WBCA Diversity & Inclusion committee.

1-3 p.m. Mentoring Madness (pre-registration required)

Moms in Coaching provides an opportunity for moms to directly connect, give and receive advice, feedback and support through meaningful, honest conversation with a large network of women who can personally relate to the unique day-to-day life experiences of a mom who coaches.

1-3 p.m. Always Dad
Always dad is all about having open communication with dads in coaching. Share stories, struggles and celebrations while exchanging ideas and experiences so that members can grow as fathers, leaders and partners.

8:45-10:45 a.m. Kay Yow Heart of a Coach Breakfast
The breakfast is a time for coaches and guests to come together and honor the legacy of Kay Yow and recognize the winner of the 2018 Kay Yow Heart of a Coach. This award was established in 2008 to honor of Coach Yow, head women’s basketball coach at North Carolina State University. Kay was one of the most respected coaches in all of sport. She won on the court, but more importantly, she consistently lived out her faith in front of her players by “trying to see them for what they can become, not just for who they are now.” It is a time of faith, fellowship and fun.
