The Assistant Coach of the Year award is presented annually in each of the six membership divisions - NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, NAIA, junior/community college and high school. The Assistant Coach of the Year award is presented to the recipient each year during the WBCA Convention. The criteria in order of priority are:
□ Commitment to the program, student-athlete and head coach
□ On court coaching impact
□ Mentorship and impact on other coaches
□ Professional manner and attitude

Each WBCA member assistant coach at an NCAA DI, NCAA DII, NCAA DIII, NAIA, junior/community college and high school institution is eligible for the award.
Any WBCA member head coach may nominate one (1) WBCA member assistant coach from their institution. The nomination must be submitted online.
At the conclusion of the nomination period, the WBCA will send a link to the Assistant Coaches Council. The council will review all nominees and cast their vote online for the top 5 selections in each of the six membership divisions NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, NAIA, junior/community college and high school.
These 30 coaches (5 per division) will be known as the finalists and will be sent to the council for final selections.
