Shanteona Keys joined the staff as manager of education in October 2018. She is responsible for managing the educational programming the association offers its members, both online and in person during the WBCA Convention. She also keeps abreast of the continuing educational needs that members may have, develops programming that satisfies those needs, and identifies experts in the areas of need to present on webinars or in sessions at convention.

Prior to joining the WBCA, Keys was a national leader on and off the basketball court when she attended Georgia College. The class valedictorian in 2015 also finished her basketball career as the school’s all-time leading scorer. She was the 2015 Peach Belt Conference Scholar Athlete of the Year and was a two-time Capital One Academic All-American. A team captain all four years, she earned All-Conference honors each year and was a WBCA Coaches’ All-America honorable mention her senior year. She also served as the Peach Belt Conference representative on the NCAA’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee for four years.

After graduation, Keys worked as an assistant women’s basketball coach at Georgia College and continues to mentor young women as an assistant girls’ basketball coach at Cambridge High School in Georgia.
