Assistant Coach of the Year
presented by Aflac
Assistant Coach of the Year is presented annually in each of the six membership divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, NAIA, two-year college and high school. The criteria in order of priority are:
- Commitment to the program, student-athlete and head coach.
- On-court coaching impact.
- Mentorship and impact on other coaches.
- Professional manner and attitude.

Nominate
Eligibility
Every WBCA member assistant coach at an NCAA DI, DII, DIII and NAIA institution, two-year college and high school is eligible for the award.
Nomination
A WBCA member head coach may nominate one WBCA member assistant coach from their own coaching staff. The nomination must be submitted online.
Selection
The WBCA Assistant Coaches Committee selects five finalists from among the nominees in each division through online voting. The committee then selects the winner in each division from the finalists in that division.
