WBCA/D2CIDA Division II National Player of the Week – Destiny Garrett, Georgia Southwestern

Garrett led 17th-ranked Georgia Southwestern in two games last week, averaging 26 points, 12 rebounds and eight assists per game. The graduate student guard from Bessemer, Ala., was one assist shy of a triple-double with 22 points, 13 rebounds and nine assists in a win over Savannah State. She then scored 30 with 11 boards and seven assists in an overtime loss to Valdosta State after she forced overtime by hitting two free throws with :02 seconds left. She shot 52% from the field and hit 18 of 20 free throws. Garrett leads the PBC and is ranked fourth in NCAA Division II with 7.6 assists per game, she is also ranked second in the conference in scoring, fourth in rebounding and second in field goal percentage.
