The WBCA plays a leading role in the development of women’s basketball by serving as the unified voice of our community of coaches to the various governing bodies of the sport.

The WBCA Board of Directors, on behalf of the membership, takes formal positions on matters that impact the game at all levels of competition, such as legislation, officiating, playing rules, professional development, recruiting and more.  These positions are formulated through careful study by a system of working groups made up of board members, non-board members who are experts in the field, and conference captains who represent and help keep members informed at a more local level, to ensure that the diverse opinions of association members are heard.

The WBCA also keeps member coaches up to date on the latest developments in legislation and playing rules so that they can make the proper decisions in leading their respective programs to ensure they are compliant and prepared for competition.
