WBCA announces NCAA Division II honorees for 2025-26 season

ATLANTA (March 25, 2026) –The Women’s Basketball Coaches Association announced today the NCAA Division II award winners for the 2025-26 season.

Coach of the Year

Mike Williams of Grand Valley State University is the 2026 WBCA NCAA Division II Coach of the Year. It is Williams’ second consecutive WBCA Coach of the Year honor. Williams will receive the Pat Summitt Trophy, named for the late legendary University of Tennessee coach and awarded annually to the coaches of the year in each of the WBCA’s membership divisions.

“The WBCA is pleased to announce Mike Williams as the 2026 recipient of the Pat Summitt Trophy presented to the WBCA NCAA Division II Coach of the Year for the second consecutive year,” said WBCA Executive Director Danielle M. Donehew. “Mike was chosen for this honor by his peers after leading his team to an outstanding season. We congratulate Mike on his success.”

Player of the Year

Natalie Bremer of Minnesota State University, Mankato, is the 2026 WBCA NCAA Division II Player of the Year. She headlines the 2026 WBCA NCAA Division II Coaches’ All-America team.

“The WBCA is proud to Natalie Bremer as the 2026 WBCA NCAA Division II Player of the Year,” said Donehew. “Natalie is most deserving of this distinguished honor. The WBCA family of coaches congratulates Natalie on her hard work, dedication and exceptional play during the 2025-26 season.”
