ATLANTA (October 26, 2026) — The Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) today announced a strategic communications partnership with AthleteZ PR to expand the association’s visibility, strengthen engagement with coaches and celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Wade Trophy.
“Our members are at the heart of everything we do,” said Danielle Donehew, WBCA Executive Director. “This partnership will help us share their stories, celebrate the people who move our game forward and strengthen the connections that make our coaching community so special. As we celebrate the Wade Trophy’s 50th anniversary, we have an opportunity to honor the extraordinary women who have defined excellence in our sport and inspire the next generation to carry that legacy forward.”
The partnership will establish a cohesive digital communications strategy across the WBCA’s social media, website, email and other owned channels. Efforts will focus on engaging current members, connecting with prospective members and reinforcing the WBCA’s role as an essential voice and resource in women’s basketball.
A central priority will be developing a 50th anniversary campaign for the Wade Trophy, honoring the award’s history, celebrating past recipients and elevating its standing as one of the most prestigious recognitions in women’s college basketball.
AthleteZ PR will also help develop year-round storytelling and campaign strategies and provide counsel on building the WBCA’s internal public relations capabilities.
“Coaches shape lives, build communities and move women’s basketball forward,” said Megan Curry, principal of AthleteZ PR. “We are proud to partner with the WBCA to amplify their impact and celebrate 50 years of Wade Trophy excellence. Through this campaign, we will connect the award’s remarkable history with the stories of today’s student-athletes, bringing its legacy to new audiences. Together, we have an opportunity to grow the game and celebrate the women who make it special.”
