WBCA Executive Director Danielle Donehew reacts to Geno Auriemma surpassing Tara VanDerveer as the all-time winningest coach in college basketball:
“Geno Auriemma is now the most successful college basketball coach of all time. Geno has won more games and more national championships than any other college basketball coach in history. His legacy, however, is far more meaningful. We cannot quantify with numbers Geno’s impact on the lives of those who have played for him, coached with and against him, and on the entirety of women’s basketball. We are proud to congratulate Geno Auriemma on everything he has achieved and on the many lasting contributions he has made to the coaching profession and our sport.”
