WBCA Executive Director Danielle Donehew reacts to announcement of new eight-year media rights deal between ESPN and NCAA:

“Coaches are incredible stewards of our game. This new media rights agreement acknowledges the growth in college women’s basketball for which coaches are the driving force. We are excited that ESPN, which has played a significant role in the popularity of the sport, will remain the television partner and home for the Division I championship and expand its investment in and coverage of the game. Most importantly, we are encouraged by NCAA President Charlie Baker’s public commitment to now explore unit distributions in our sport. This will encourage greater investment in the game at both the conference and institutional level and contribute to even further growth in the sport.”
