Thursday, March 29

8 a.m.–5 p.m. “So You Want To Be A Coach” in partnership with the Alliance of Women Coaches

9 a.m.–7 p.m. WBCA Convention Registration presented by NIKE

10 a.m.–noon Mentoring Madness (pre-registration required)
Mentoring Madness is a fast-paced, small-group mentoring session. Participants receive face-to-face interaction with experienced head coaches while discussing pertinent coaching issues — helping to build one’s professional network while opening the door to a convention full of brainstorming and sharing.

11 a.m.–4 p.m. WBCA Coaches Huddle

11 a.m.–noon Coach and Be Coached: Mock Interviews (pre-registration required)
This career development option gives individuals the opportunity to practice interview skills with an athletic administrator or head coach while having the option to ask questions. The interviewer will critique the interviewee.

12:30–6:30 p.m. “So What’s Next” (invite only)
A one-day program that includes specific coaching topics targeted toward head coaches such as communication, leadership, mental health and managing up within a small-group setting.

2–4 p.m. Coach and Be Coached: Mock Interviews (pre-registration required)
This career development option gives individuals the opportunity to practice interview skills with an athletic administrator or head coach while having the option to ask questions. The interviewer will critique the interviewee.

4–4:30 p.m. “So You Want To Be A Head Coach” programming (registered participants only)

4:30–5:30 p.m. Thirty Under 30 presented by Marriott Rewards happy hour (honorees only)

4:30–5:30 p.m. “So You Want To Be A Head Coach” happy hour (registered participants only)

TBD Division I Coaches Speed Scheduling: Basketball Travelers Speed (Game) Dating Session
Minimize your scheduling stress and fill in your 2018-19 open dates by attending this session to connect with prospective opponents.

7–11 p.m. WBCA Welcome Party
Start convention off on a high note. The WBCA invites all its members to an off-site venue where coaches can celebrate the end to another great season.

Friday, March 30

9 a.m.–3:30 p.m. High School Coaches Day (additional charge)
The WBCA High School Coaches Day is a full day of programming, focusing on building high-level scholastic programs and preparing athletes to play on the college stage. This event will include an on-court presentation, classroom sessions, lunch and an opportunity to network with collegiate coaches.

9–11 a.m. General session; featured speaker

This fast-paced setting, allows coaches to rotate from speaker-to-speaker every 20 to 25 minutes while listening to multiple topics in a short amount of time.

2:30–3:30 p.m. Learning Labs
Industry professionals and coaches give classroom presentations on hot topics ranging from coaching philosophy to handling difficult situations.

1–3 p.m. WBCA Conference Captains (NCAA Divisions I, II and III) joint meeting

4–7 p.m. Wow4Yow Celebration

TBD FCA/Kay Yow Heart of a Coach Breakfast
This is a time for coaches and guests to come together and honor the legacy of Kay Yow and recognize the winner of the 2018 Kay Yow Heart of a Coach award. This award was established in 2008 to honor of Coach Yow, head women’s basketball coach at North Carolina State University. Yow was one of the most respected coaches of all sports — not only winning on court, but more importantly, consistently living out her faith in front of her players by “trying to see them for what they can become, not just for who they are now.” It is a time of faith, fellowship and fun.
