Wade Watch Spotlight; Ruthy Hebard; Sophie Cunningham

Oregon’s Ruthy Hebard and Missouri’s Sophie Cunningham are this week’s Wade Watch Spotlight players.





Hebard dominated as the Ducks toured through Washington leading them to wins over Washington and Washington State. She dropped a career-high 30 points on 13-of-15 shooting in Oregon’s 76-63 win at Washington. She added 4-of-6 free throws to round out her career performance. The sophomore from Fairbanks, Alaska, also snagged 14 rebounds for her seventh double-double of the season. She kept the hot hand as the Ducks traveled to Washington State for a 90-79 win over the Cougars. Hebard went a perfect 12-of-12 from the field for a game-high 29 points. The sophomore forward didn’t miss a shot of any kind all night, also going 5-of-5 from the charity stripe. This performance put Hebard over the 1,000- career-points mark. She narrowly missed recording her second double-double by grabbing nine rebounds. Hebard also was a force on the defensive side blocking four shots and snagging a steal.

 

 

 
Cunningham put on a stellar shooting performance last week in both of Missouri’s wins over Kentucky and Arkansas. She posted a game-high 29 points shooting 5-of-7 from behind the 3-point line in the Tigers’ 83-78 win over the Wildcats. The junior from Columbia, Missouri, went 8-of-10 overall from the field and stepped up to the free-throw line and hit 8-of-10 shots. This tremendous performance vaulted her into 10th on Missouri’s all-time scoring list. She kept her teammates involved by dishing out a game-high five assists. Cunningham kept it going from behind the arc hitting 4-of-5 3-pointers in the 84-58 win over the Razorbacks. The 6-foot-1 guard shot over 50 percent from the field for the second straight game hitting six of her 11 shots for a game-high 18 points. She pulled down five rebounds and posted three assists to finish her well-rounded performance.
