WBCA/Wilson Opportunity Scholarship

The WBCA and Wilson Sporting Goods have teamed up to offer the WBCA/Wilson Opportunity Scholarship. This scholarship was created to financially assist members identifying as BIPOC (Black, Indigenous and People of Color) with registration fees for WBCA ASPIRE – a virtual event created in lieu of the 2021 WBCA Convention.

A total of 66 applicants (53 WBCA members from the high school division and 13 WBCA members from the collegiate divisions) will be awarded scholarships. Each scholarship is valued at $150 (the cost of one registration to ASPIRE).

Scholarship applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Be a WBCA member.*
  • Identify as BIPOC.
  • Be a current head coach, assistant coach, director of operations, SID, administrator, or other person working in women's basketball at the high school or collegiate level.

Deadlines and Timelines

Monday, Feb. 1 Scholarship application opens.
5 p.m. ET, Friday, Feb. 12 Scholarship application closes.
Thursday-Friday, Feb. 18–19 Applicants notified of status.


Applications are now closed. Incomplete applications will result in automatic disqualification. Applying for the scholarship does not guarantee you will be selected.
