AAU Coaches Packet FREE!
With event operators charging excessive prices for their coaches’ packets, some as high as $950, the AAU will provide complimentary coaches packets and admission this year. Packet prices have been the #1 concern for coaches during the summer certified event recruiting period and the Amateur Athletic Union stepped up to support coaches and lead by example!
This decision was made to help support the initiative for the “good of the game.” The AAU will continue to look to the NCAA coaches and Basketball Summit meetings for suggestions as it moves into the future.

An Invitation to Present
The WBCA is searching for speakers to present at the 2009 WBCA National Convention in St. Louis.
We would like to invite you to share your knowledge and expertise through on-court and classroom sessions at the 2009 WBCA National Convention, which will take place in St. Louis, Missouri from April 3-7, 2009.
Program content should relate to your area of expertise. You may also suggest a speaker and topic you feel would be a valuable addition to the convention program.

“Shootaround” Summer Events
Beth Mowins, Debbie Antonelli and the entire WBCA staff would like to thank you all for making the inaugural season of “Shootaround with Beth & Debbie” such a huge success!
In just its first year, “Shootaround” reached thousands of enthused listeners and shed an entirely new light on the world of women’s basketball.
Even though the college season has come to an end, Beth and Debbie would like to continue to bring new content. You will be able to catch a handful of special episodes including:

Notre Dame Issues Pink Zone Challenge to Nation’s Top 20 in Attendance
The University of Notre Dame, in conjunction with the WBCA, announced that it will sponsor the inaugural WBCA Pink Zone Challenge, to be held during the 2008-09 season.
The Challenge will be a friendly fund-raising competition among the top 20 women’s basketball programs in the final 2007-08 national attendance rankings (as determined by the NCAA; see list below).
Each of these schools will be charged with trying to collect the most money through the Pink Zone initiative (formerly known as “Think Pink”), a global, unified effort for the WBCA’s nation of coaches to assist in raising breast cancer awareness on the court, across campuses, in communities and beyond.
